Twist-three cross-sections in deeply virtual Compton scattering

A bstract We study the deeply virtual Compton scattering process with both twist-two and twist-three form factors present our cross-sections formulas all polarization configurations. While contributions are generally assumed to be negligible in literature due kinematical suppression, we compare them ones at typical JLab 6 GeV 12 kinematics as well EIC show their suppression explicitly, justifying leading-twist approximation made literature. In addition, also estimate using Wandzura-Wilczek relations inputs of generalized parton distributions based on a reggeized spectator model. With those estimated factors, analyze behavior wide range kinematics, discuss optimal regions for separating effects from higher-twist ones.

We study twist-three effects in deeply virtual Compton scattering on an unpolarized spin-1/2 target. A careful definition of observables as Fourier moments w.r.t. the azimuthal angle allows for a clear separation of twist-two and-three effects. Although the latter are power suppressed, they give leading contributions to the twist-three asymmetries and do not affect the twist-two observables.
